Troubleshooting: Minute Limit Reached
Whisperer counts the actual time audio is recorded. The Free plan has a limit of 60 minutes per month. This article explains how the quota works, what happens when it is reached, and how to increase it.
How the Minute Quota Works
| Plan | Minute Limit |
|---|---|
| Free | 60 minutes per month |
| Start, Pro, Max | Unlimited |
The quota resets once a month (on the 28th–31st, depending on the subscription start date). Minutes are accumulated across all sessions, including sessions in no-logs mode.
The quota is soft: if you were in a session when the limit was reached — the current session will continue until it ends. Starting a new session will not be possible.
How to Check the Remaining Minutes
- Open the web dashboard → Subscription.
- The "Usage" section displays the remaining minutes and the quota reset date.

What Happens When the Limit Is Reached
- The client displays a notification: "Minute quota exhausted".
- The active session (if one was open) ends normally.
- The "Start" button becomes inactive until the quota resets or you upgrade to a paid plan.

How to Increase the Limit
Upgrade to a Paid Plan
Start, Pro, and Max plans have no minute limits. Go to the dashboard → Subscription → select a plan.

Wait for the Quota to Reset (Free)
The Free quota resets monthly. The next reset date is shown in the "Usage" section of the dashboard.
Common Errors
| Error | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Cannot start session" | Minute quota exhausted | Upgrade to a paid plan or wait for the reset |
| Minutes are being consumed faster than expected | No-logs mode also counts minutes | Plan usage accounting for all sessions |
| Quota did not reset | Reset date has not arrived yet | Check the date in the "Usage" section |
| Displays wrong remaining balance | Cache update delay | Refresh the dashboard page or sign out and back in |
Best Practices
- Stop the session explicitly with the "Stop" button rather than simply closing the overlay — this correctly tallies the minutes.
- Use pause during long meeting breaks — the timer does not run.
- Monitor your balance in the "Usage" section before important meetings.
- No-logs mode does not save minutes — it only hides data after the session.
