No-Logs Mode (Ephemeral Mode)

No-logs mode is a privacy toggle that prevents Whisperer from saving the transcript and LLM responses after a session ends. Data exists only in memory during the meeting and is deleted immediately when it finishes. Minute quota is consumed in the normal way.

When to Use

  • Confidential negotiations, NDA meetings, deal discussions.
  • Interviews where you do not want to retain a record of the conversation.
  • Conversations with clients or patients in regulated industries.
  • Any meeting after which leaving traces in the system is undesirable.

How to Enable

In the Desktop Client

  1. Click the Settings icon (gear) on the Whisperer panel.
  2. Toggle "No-Logs Mode" (or "Do Not Save Data") on.
  3. The indicator on the panel will change color — you will see the mode label.
  4. Start a session as usual.

In the Web Dashboard

  1. Open Settings → Privacy.
  2. Enable "No-Logs Mode".
  3. The setting applies to all subsequent sessions from this device until turned off.

What Is Not Saved

Data Standard Mode No-Logs
Meeting transcript Saved to history Deleted after session
LLM responses Saved to history Deleted after session
Minutes consumed Counted toward quota Counted toward quota
Analytics / mind map Generated after session Not generated

Common Errors

Error Cause Fix
Session does not appear in history No-logs mode is enabled — this is expected behavior This is not an error; data was deleted by request
Minutes were deducted but session is missing Same reason — minutes are always counted Check quota in the subscriptions section
Toggle does not persist Settings data is cached — try signing out and back in Re-enable the mode after restarting the client

Best Practices

  • Check the indicator before the meeting starts: the panel should show the mode label.
  • Do not confuse with pause: in no-logs mode, pauses and resumes do not appear in history, but minutes during recording are still consumed.
  • Use no-logs as the default for regular confidential meetings — you only need to enable it once.
