Screenshots and Vision (Image Analysis)
Whisperer can take a screenshot during a meeting and instantly analyze it with AI. This lets you get an explanation of a diagram, a terminal error, a chart, or a slide — without leaving the overlay or losing focus on the conversation.
This feature is available on Start, Pro, and Max plans.
When to Use
- The other person shared their screen and is showing a diagram or code — ask Whisperer to explain it.
- An interview problem appears with a drawing or table — take a screenshot and get a breakdown.
- You need to understand an on-screen error without switching away from the overlay.
- Multi-screenshot: accumulate several frames in a row for comparison or detailed analysis.
Single Screenshot
macOS
- Click the "Screenshot" button (camera icon) on the CommandBar, or use the keyboard shortcut (set by default in
/app/hotkeys). - Whisperer captures the current state of the screen.
- The image is sent to the AI; the analysis response appears in AnswerArea.
The "Screen Recording" permission is required for screenshots — the same permission used to capture the counterpart's voice. If the permission has not been granted, the screenshot button will be inactive.
Windows
- Press Ctrl+Alt+S (default) or click the screenshot button in the overlay.
- The capture is saved to
Downloads\Whisperer_Screenshots\and copied to the clipboard. - The AI analyzes the image; the result appears in AnswerArea.
On Windows, screenshots do not require additional permissions.

Multi-Screenshot
Multi-screenshot lets you accumulate several frames and send them to the AI in a single request — useful when analyzing a sequence of steps, comparing "before/after", or reviewing multiple slides.
- Click the multi-screenshot button (or
Ctrl+Shift+Enterin the Windows overlay). - Take one or more additional captures — they queue up.
- Click "Analyze" — all frames are sent to the AI at once.

Common Errors
| Error | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshot button is inactive (macOS) | Screen Recording permission not granted | macOS Permissions |
| Screenshot captures the Whisperer overlay | Overlay is configured without "stealth" mode | Enable "Hide during screen capture" in settings |
| AI does not see the needed part of the screen | The entire screen is captured, not a window | Temporarily move the target window to the foreground |
| "Vision unavailable" | Free plan does not include vision | Upgrade to Start or higher |
Best Practices
- Before taking a screenshot, make sure the content you need is fully visible and not covered by other windows.
- State your question before the capture: type it in the text field ("explain this diagram", "what does this error mean") — the AI will answer precisely.
- Multi-screenshot is useful for problems with multiple steps: capture all steps, then send them in one request.
- No-logs mode: if the meeting is confidential, enable it — screenshots are also not saved to history.
